Note 4 Wi-Fi Not Working
Problem:My wifi stopped working yesterday. It won’t connect anymore to my pocket wifi or any wifi network. I tried all your tips and did a factory reset and it still will not work. Any ideas? Thank you.
Solution: Is your phone still running on its stock software? If it is running on a custom software then try reflashing the stock software.
Does your Wi-Fi turn on when you activate it? If it greys out and you already performed a factory reset with the problem still unresolved then this may already be hardware related. I suggest you bring your phone to an authorized service center and have it repaired.
Note 4 Connected To Wi-Fi But Can’t Go Online
Problem:When traveling many times I cannot connect to the Internet or get new emails. I try to connect to an available open Wi-Fi. I usually can get connected to one. When I do get connected, I still cannot receive emails or get on Internet. My daughter has a cheap phone from Wal Mart and never has a problem connecting. I am really disgusted with my Galaxy Note 4 especially when I paid $800 for it. Please help. Thanks.
Solution: There may be an app ( most probably a security app) blocking your access to the Internet. Try starting your phone in Safe Mode first. In this mode only the pre-installed apps are allowed to run while apps that you downloaded are disabled. If you can connect to the Internet in this mode then the problem may be caused by an app. Find out what app this is and uninstall it.
You should also try to removing the Wi-Fi connection from your phone. Wipe the cache partition of your phone then re-add the Wi-Fi connection.
Note 4 Wi-Fi Greyed Out After Software Update
Problem:Shortly after the last update my Samsung note 4 edge has had wifi issues. The wifi as shown in the attached pics is greyed out and when i try to turn it on it goes to a very light green but will not switch on. I have removed the battery whilst phone is on and off and done this many different ways and waited hours to power it back up with no luck. Airplane mode as well. I took it into a store and they factory reset it and then it worked for about 2 days then stopped working again. Please advise if you have heard of this of can help.
Solution: There have been several reported cases where the Wi-Fi switch greys out after a software update. This is usually caused by data from the old software version that has not been completely removed from your phone. The best way to deal with this problem is to do a factory reset again but make sure you backup your phone data first.
Use your phone as you would normally after the factory reset but take note of what apps you download. Once the issue occurs again try to recall what app was last downloaded into your device. This may be causing the problem.
In other cases where the Wi-Fi switch stays grey the problem is already hardware related. In this case you have to bring your phone to an authorized service center and have it checked.
