We already know that OnePlus is working on a sequel but now we have some additional details for the upcoming device. According to a “source” who spoke with Buisness Insider, the sequel, tentatively named the OnePlus Two, will “probably” be even more customizable than the original. In other words, the OnePlus Two will allegedly feature even more StyleSwap covers – although, any readily available StyleSwap covers would be an improvement over the original.
The source also revealed OnePlus’ plan to keep the phone sub $500 despite the strong likelihood of much improved hardware. Realistically, this shouldn’t be too hard as various other Chinese manufacturers have consistently been able to sell top-tier phones well under $500. One other tidbit that the source made known about the hardware is that OnePlus has some “surprises in store when it comes to hardware.” The source wouldn’t elaborate as to what this means but surprises are usually a good thing so we’ll say that’s a plus.
I have no doubt that OnePlus will put together a top notch device once again but they’ll really need to sure up their quality control (see: yellow screen), sales system (see: invite system) and marketing schemes to really make a significant impact on the market.
