Sony is bringing back PlayStation’s favorite golf franchise with a brand new game for the PlayStation 4. New Hot Shots Golf is being developed by longtime developer Clap Hanz, and Sony is aiming for a release in Japan in 2016.
New Hot Shots Golf will bring the series back to console exclusivity after the previous game launched on both the PlayStation 3 and PS Vita way back in 2011. Sony says that this new game will allow gamers to create their own golf courses and share them with others in an online community.
The series has been popular since the early days of PlayStation thanks to its cartoonish take on the sport and carefree countryside sense of freedom. New Hot Shots Golf launches for the PlayStation 4 in 2016 in Japan. It should make it to the States not long after that.
