With Sony currently in the process of sending out the Android 5.0 update for the Xperia Z3, Xperia Z2 and a bunch of tablets from last year, it’s easy to forget about the likes of the Xperia Z, which was the company’s first flagship phone from 2013. The company has now assured customers that they haven’t forgotten about the device and teased the arrival of the Lollipop update for the handset.
The company has also claimed that the Xperia C3 and the Xperia T2 Ultra will be receiving the Android 5.0 update soon, so the treatment is not reserved just for the flagship phones.
Strangely enough, the Japanese manufacturer is yet to share official details on the Android 5.0 update rollout for the Xperia Z1, which broke cover roughly six months after the Xperia Z. But since the company is sending out an update to the Z, it’s fair to assume that the Z1 will be getting the update soon.
Sony is yet to provide official timeframe for the rollout of the update, so there’s still no word on when it will start reaching devices.
