Sony just announced an event that it’s hosting in New York City on September 7. This is where we expect to see the PlayStation Neo, Sony’s successor to the PlayStation 4. In an invite to TechnoBuffalo, Sony said it “can’t wait to share details with you about the PlayStation business.”
The invite follows hot on the heels of a report from VICE Gaming yesterday, which suggested that Sony will release a new PlayStation sometime this month. Early reports have suggested Sony is going to outfit the new PlayStation 4 Neo console with more RAM, a new processor and a new GPU. It isn’t expected to replace the PS4 entirely, so don’t go throwing your current consoles out the window just yet. Instead, as we’ve reported earlier, Sony is expected to sell both consoles at the same time.
We expect to learn more on September 7. The event kicks off at 3 p.m. EST and we’ll be reporting live.
