Sony is doing some really cool stuff in the wearable space, especially when it comes to software integration. Instead of specifically focusing on health or how many steps you’ve walked, it logs all of your mobile activity during the day using a new app called Lifelog and the Sony SmartBand.
The Lifelog app is officially available today, and is optimized for the Xperia Z2 and Sony’s other Android 4.4 KitKat devices, including the Xperia Z Ultra, Xperia Z2 an the Xperia Z1 Compact. With it, you can monitor when you did certain things, like listened to music, walked around the block, took a photo or watched a movie on your phone. Additionally, you can set specific goals to make sure you are more active, if that’s what you’re interested in. Another feature called “Life Bookmarks” lets you save specific spots in time to reflect on later.
Sony says the SmartBand SWR10 is required if you want to be able to log your activity, such as steps and sleep patterns, and to keep track of “spontaneous Life Bookmarks.” The company also promised that new features and different options will start hitting the app in the next few weeks.
