Sony’s Tablet P dual screen slate is finally getting ready to reach the UK, bringing some Android 3.2 Honeycomb action with it. The product was last detailed in August, when a European release of the Tablet P in November was confirmed, so everything is right on time.
Having tested the Sony Tablet S, I have to say that I came out disappointed after playing with it for a week. The angle of the screen and that lateral design covered the buttons and only left the user feeling his way around them. Also, the volume was crappy, video playback was OK, the viewing angle was not and the camera was mediocre at best. Not even the gaming was that impressive… PlayStation certification or not.
Maybe the Tablet P has a chance at making it big, since all the Tablet S had was promises. The newcomer is a dual display device with two 5.5 inch 1024 x 480 touchscreens and you can find this product on Dixons right now, if you’re interested. The price is 499.99 quid and know that the slate comes with a dual core 1GHz Tegra 2 CPU, 1GB of RAM, a 5MP camera, WiFi and Bluetooth. It weighs 372 grams and measures 13mm in thickness.
