Sony has unveiled a 1TB version of the PlayStation 4, as well as announcing some new features coming to the PlayStation app for iOS and Android.
Sony has joined Microsoft by making the 1TB PlayStation 4 official. The company revealed the new version of the popular console on the Sony European blog, dubbed the "Ultimate Player Edition". The new version of the PlayStation 4 will hit stores across Europe on July 15.
Microsoft already has a 1TB version of the Xbox One, making Sony's move an interesting one to remain competitive by absorbing new consumers who desire more storage from their console units. As well as the new PlayStation, Sony also unveiled some new features for the official app for iOS and Android.
Should you fire up the PlayStation app on your smartphone, you'll now be able to enter PSN gift cards and promotional codes instead of having to use the console. Streamers will also be able to view comments on the phone or tablet while broadcasting on the big screen. There has been no word on US availability, but since the 1TB console has hit the FCC already the wait shouldn't be a long one.
