Remember how we told you that Sony’s Xperia S, Xperia P and Xperia U could be released in the US at some point? Well, that day has come, and the three smartphones can be ordered Stateside now, either via Sony’s official store here, or Newegg. All are unlocked, and it looks like no US carrier wants to offer any of them subsidized.
The Xperia S (which has features similar to AT&T’s Xperia Ion – available since the end of June) costs $559.99, and can be purchased in black, or white.
The Xperia P comes in black, silver, or red, and costs $479.99. The smaller Xperia U is priced at only $299.99, and can be yours in black / pink, black / white, or black / yellow.
For now, only the Xperia S runs Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich. The Xperia P and Xperia U are being sold with Andorid 2.3 Gingerbread, but Sony will offer ICS updates for them later this year. All three handsets are compatible with AT&T’s and T-Mobile’s networks, but you’ll have 3G connectivity only on AT&T.
