Fans were given four options to choose from; HD video record/playback, 12MP camera, Playstation certified gaming and 1.5GHz CPU. Over 3,000 took part and a clear winner prevailed, with the processor option chalking up almost 2,000 votes.
Sony Ericsson promptly answered the call, posting a video on the page of Stephen Sneeden, Product Marketing Manager, providing more insight into the processor.
Streaming and camera joy
Sneeden confirms that the Xperia S uses the Qualcomm 8260 1.5GHz dual-core processor which, as he puts it, benefits the product in every way, making it more nimble in all the applications you want to do.
He goes on to highlight that it will be a plus to users looking to stream music or video, via Sony's dedicated portals, Music Unlimited and Video Unlimited. This will catch the eye of many consumers, as music and video streaming becomes more and more popular on mobile devices.
The speedy dual-core processor will also aid users when it comes to taking a quick snap with that impressive 12MP camera. The Xperia S boasts a fast capture system, with a sleep to shot time of just 1.5 seconds and a shot to shot time of 1 second.
