A few weeks ago, when Sony announced the new Xperia SP and Xperia L Android Jelly Bean smartphones, it said that both would be released starting the second quarter of the year. That could mean anything between April and June. Fortunately, it looks like customers won’t have to wait until June (or even May) for the two handsets – at least not in the UK.
Carphone Warehouse is currently listing the Xperia SP and Xperia L as coming soon (here and here) – and both should be available starting this month.
The British retailer doesn’t mention the handsets’ prices. However, others – like Clove and Expansys – suggest the Xperia SP will cost around £320 (€380), and the Xperia L around £240 (€284).
Since it’s the most expensive of the two, the Sony Xperia SP comes with more advanced features, including a 4.6 inch HD (720 x 1280 pixels) display, LTE connectivity, 1.7GHz dual-core Qualcomm Snapdragon processor, 8MP rear camera, VGA front-facing camera, 1GB of RAM, 8GB of internal memory, and MicroSD card support. The Xperia L only offers a 4.3 inch FWVGA (854 x 480) display and a 1GHz dual-core processor – but it also has a VGA front-facing camera, 8MP rear camera, 1GB of RAM, and 8GB of expandable internal memory.
