The Sony Xperia Z4 was announced yesterday by the company for Japanese markets. An Indonesian certification database has now revealed the existence of two new variants of the handset, potentially known as the Xperia Z4 Compact and the XperiaZ4 Ultra. The devices are shown to be carrying the model number E5803 (Z4 Compact) and the E6833 (Z4 Ultra).
The assumptions are being drawn on the basis of the predecessors which also have very similar model numbers with a couple of digits changed. There’s a full list of upcoming Sony smartphones that we see here, but no more word on them as of yet.
The Xperia Z4 Compact and the Xperia Z4 Ultra could be unveiled by the manufacturer later in the year in lieu of a new Xperia flagship. This could save the company the trouble of launching the Xperia Z5 in September. There are several other factors in play as well, so we’re still some distance away from the launch of these two handsets.
