Earlier this week, we confirmed the launch of the Sprint branded Nexus 5 in the U.S. The smartphone is officially available in the stores from today and we’re already seeing a reduced price for the handset. Originally priced at $149.99 with a two year contract, the smartphone is now listed at just $49.99 after a $50 mail in rebate. The off contract pricing remains fixed at $449.99 though, but since this is a carrier variant, it probably won’t make sense to get it off contract as Google is selling the smartphone directly for $349. The carrier is selling both the Black and White variants.
The only incentive to get this variant of the Nexus 5 instead of the Play Store variant is that Sprint is shipping it out in 2-3 business days while Google is currently taking weeks. Also, users won’t have to worry about looking for a new 4G LTE network provider in the U.S as Sprint will help you set up your phone on its network. The pricing isn’t all bad either. However, the carrier’s lack of 4G LTE networks in most parts of the U.S. will remain a concern for potential buyers. Head over to the link below to get the new Nexus 5 through Sprint.
