Ho ho ho! It sees that Star Ocean: Integrity and Faithlessness is far from the last we’ll hear of Square Enix in 2015. In a further attempt to solidify itself as top dog of the PlayStation 4, it has gone so far as to tease even further PlayStation 4 games in development that could be announced before the end of the year.
In an interview with Famitsu, translated by Gematsu, Producer Shinji Hashimoto is the one who dropped the hint.
—Dragon Quest Heroes II was announced pretty quickly. We thought it was an April Fools’ joke because of that.
Hashimoto: You must have been surprised! (Laughs.) We want to help spread PS4 even more. If that happens, even more games will come out, which would make me even happier. (Laughs.)
—Square Enix has a variety of PS4 titles coming out. The time to buy a PS4 is now, eh?
Hashimoto: On April 23, we have Tropico 5, then on May 14, Final Fantasy X | X-2 HD Remaster will also be released. Including ones yet to be announced, there really are a lot of titles this year, so please look forward to them!
So far on its plate for the PlayStation 4 this year (though some could easily slip into 2016), Square Enix has Final Fantasy Type-0 HD, Final Fantasy XV, Dragon Quest Heroes 1 and 2, Final Fantasy XIV: Heavensward, Kingdom Hearts III, and the previously mentioned Final Fantasy X | X-2 HD Remaster. That’s an awful lot of games, leaving me to wonder what the extent of these other products are.
Will they be new releases of original games, or are we due for another remaster or two? I really wouldn’t mind seeing Dragon Quest VIII or Final Fantasy XII in HD on either of my HD PlayStation consoles. Yourself?
