Statusbar toggles are quite useful to many Android users. Accessible within almost any app, important settings can be can be toggled on and off, whether it be WiFi, Data transmissions, or GPS, quickly and easily. For many older or lower-end devices that missed out on this feature in their OEM-skinned ROMs, having these toggles is still possible through apps in the Play store. However, more often than not, many of these alternative apps allow little flexibility and customization.
XDA Senior member Zoldyck introduced A mod for Xperia J, Tipo and Miro, allowing users to have the same toggles as other Xperia users. Zoldyck offers four different toggle layouts, including Jelly Bean’s tabbed toggles, and a toggles at the bottom of the screen rather than being lined up on the top.
The advantage of using these mods or ports over third-party applications from the Play store is their aesthetic consistency with stock Xperia design. Mods and ports for specific devices also have less chance of having visual and operational bugs and flaws that may be found in applications standardized to work with a wide range of devices.
Nevertheless, development that are device-specific and for a variety of devices are encouraged and contribute greatly to Android users’ experiences. Working with Xperia J, Tipo, and Miro devices that have been rooted, this mod can be found in the original thread.
