One of the biggest problems everyone faces who owns an iPhone is running out of storage space on their device. From iPhone 3 until the iPhone 5 the largest size storage space anyone could get on their device was 64GB. However the larger drive space costs way more than the 16GB phone and a lot of people simply can’t afford to get the unit with the larger storage capacity. These days the largest you can get is 128GB and hopefully soon it will be 256GB. Either way the bottom line is how to maximize that space. Removing apps, videos, and photos is the usual plan but if you delete all those items from your phone what’s the point of owning it? Who owns and iPhone simply to make calls? Seriously….who does that? Making calls is more of an additional benefit to owning and iPhone but not really the main purpose IMO! So that being said I have an app for your to check out. It’s called Storage Saver Plus and it’s pretty cool I must say!
User Interface and Functionality
When users first log into the app it asks them for permission to access their photos and videos. Once it has access it starts creating an interface that mimics their current photo catalog on their iPhone. Users can see all their folders and their photos from inside of the app. Then the app asks you if you want to compress all photos or choose which ones to compress one by one. Users who choose compress all simply have to say yes and the app starts compressing photos for you. Once the compression is done the app asks the user for permission to delete the photos from their phone. If they say yes the photos are deleted and presto space is now available on their phone again. If the user says no the compressed photos are still available in the app and the photos are still on the phone. This doesn’t save space but it gives the user the option to delete the photos they want to delete at their own pace. Users who choose to choose which photos to compress one by one simply have to swipe left to delete the photo and swipe right to compress it. It’s like tinder that dating app but for photos, not dates. It’s that easy to use.
The app has a configurations page that lets users change the compression settings and also it shows users how much space they will save using those savings. Users can also change the image size to switch each image too. That way if the images are super large they can be reduced in size and compressed to save even more space.
My overall opinion of this app is it’s great for anyone who has a lot of photos on their phone and doesn’t mind giving up a little photo quality to make more space on their phone. I would not recommend it for anyone who requires the highest resolution quality photos for their work like a photographer. It might not be good for their profession to use compressed images. Other than that I say you should definitely check this app out! I highly recommend it!
