Downwell now has an official release date for the PlayStation 4 and PS Vita platforms. The title, made by a single developer, Ojiro Fumoto, will be available digitally starting on May 24, 2016.
The good news doesn’t stop there, either. Downwell is a pretty small game, as addictive and good as it is. Therefore, it’s been priced perfectly at $4.99. Furthermore, it offers Cross-Buy support. Buy it once on either the PlayStation 4 or PS Vita, and you’ll have the game on both. However, Fumoto doesn’t explain whether or not cloud saves will be supported in order to transfer all your unlocks between devices.
If you’ve not heard of Downwell before, Fumoto describes the insanity briefly on the PlayStation Blog.
In Downwell, you descend into a deep well filled with monsters and traps, equipped with the Gunboots — a set of boots that let you shoot bullets from your feet. You’ll be using it to clear your way of enemies, or as a way to slow your descent using its recoil.
On your way down you’ll find different guns, shops with helpful items, and upgrades like explosive balloons or a set of silverware to eat your foes with. The well is randomly generated, so no two trips down will ever be the same!
It’s a fun, rewarding and addictive game. Snap it up if you own a contemporary PlayStation device. You’ll love it.
