There’s nothing like relaxing in the sun at the beach. You probably can’t go to the beach everyday, especially in the winter. Sunny is a new app to replicate the feeling of being at the beach with immersive 3D audio soundtracks. It comes from the makers of Windy, and offers a very similar set-up, but with beach sounds, instead of windy sounds. You’re given six stereoscopic 3D soundtracks recorded directly from various beaches. Each soundtrack is accompanied by a 3D parallax scene to set the complete stage.
Relaxation is the emphasis of Sunny, and it definitely establishes that. All you need is a pair of headphones, the app, and some time where others aren’t reliant on you. You can then close your eyes, and listen to the waves crash on the beach in varying forms based on which recording you’re listening to. The stereoscopic sound is extraordinary to truly immerse you in the soundtrack as though you’re lying on the beach. The app comes with a number of options as well including the ability to adjust the strength of relaxing music, rain, birds, rain on a tent, and more. Sunny also has a built-in self timer, as well as a tracking system for your relaxation sessions.
There’s so much tender love, and care put into Sunny to let you not get bogged down in the app, and instead just get to the relaxation soundtracks. In addition to the beautiful scenes, and deluxe beach soundtracks, there’s also an overarching storyline as you unlock each new scene. Sunny is a valuable resource as many of us are probably more stressed than we would like, and could use an aid in lowering blood pressure, and the thoughts that catch in our troubled minds. With just a few minutes with the app, you can feel the pressure on your temples dissipate. There’s great depth, and length to the recordings to let you fully enjoy listening for extended sessions, which is further aided by six different beach scenes.
Sunny ($1.99, Universal) can truly help you relax with amazing sound, and smooth design making it well wroth picking up.
