LONDON, UK – The recent work of BAFTA-nominated British director Tom Harper, The Swarm, amuses not only with its storyline, but also by the fact that the entire movie was filmed using Sony Xperia Arc S phones.
The smartphones were used both like hand-held cameras and on special tripods for more stationary scenes.
The Swarmtells the story of several completely ordinary people caught in the moment, when a disastrous alien invasion hits the Earth. The whole story is told by the point of view of their phones, which makes the movie more reality and subjectivity in the same time. The quality of the movie picture gives full credit to the capabilities of the Xperia Arc S as a video recording device.
The Swarm is produced with the help of Xperia Studio, which is a project that is trying to push technology to its limit in an attempt to find creativity and art, through the “eyes” of modern everyday devices.
