T-Mobile announced today that it’s now selling Google’s latest HTC-made Nexus 9 tablet for $0 down or $600. As noted by T-Mobile, this will be the first place you can officially get the LTE version of the Nexus 9 through a US carrier. However, Google Play will also soon selling the LTE Neuxs 9.
The tablet, which previously went on sale through Google and other retailers since being announced in October, includes an 8.9-inch 2,048 x 1,536 IPS display, a 2.3GHz NVIDIA Tegra K1 processor, a 192-core Kepler GPU, a 6,700 mAh battery and Android 5.0 Lollipop. While T-Mobile is the first US carrier to offer the LTE Nexus 9, last month the device passed through the FCC revealing LTE band support for Verizon, AT&T, and Sprint in addition to T-Mobile.
The $600 price point is a $120 premium compared to $479 for the 32GB non-LTE version of the tablet through Google Play. T-Mobile will also let you get it for $0 down and 24 monthly payments of $25. Google Play is also now listing the LTE version of the tablet as “Coming soon”.
As always, T-Mobile will let customers add the tablet to a Simple Choice plan for $10 a month.The tablet will also come with 200 MB of free data a month through the carrier’s Free Data for Life tablet initiative.
