T-Mobile announced Wednesday that, starting this Sunday, it will allow customers to purchase not only devices, but also accessories, with its equipment installment plans. That means when you walk into a T-Mobile to buy a new smartphone or tablet, you can pick up a case, a mobile speaker, or another sort of accessory and pay off the cost over time.
T-Mobile said equipment installment plans can be created for accessories that cost between $69 and $250. After quickly browsing T-Mobile’s site, we found that means you can pick up items like battery packs, wireless chargers, Bluetooth speakers, Lifeproof cases, headphones, heart rate monitors, microSD cards and, presumably, the smartwatches that fall in that price range. Then, depending on the cost of the accessory, you’ll pay a nominal monthly fee across 24 months until it’s paid off. T-Mobile said the LG Tone Pro headset, for example, will cost you $2.91 per month and $0 down.
When reached for comment, T-Mobile explained to TechnoBuffalo that a customer needs to have a line with T-Mobile in order to take advantage of the accessory equipment installment plan.
