A fun new Kickstarter project, aptly named Snipe, is looking to blend some Nerf style shooting fun with iPad gaming.
The interesting technology behind the system consists of electro-conductive foam darts that are attached to a touch-reactive rubberized suction cup. Combined, the darts easily interact with the capacitive touchscreen of the iPad.And instead of the screen being filled with darts after a few shots, the suction cup is designed to stick to an iPads screen and then automatically fall off after two seconds.
The darts will not hurt a tablet’s screen and are compatible with a number of other front-loading blaster guns.
Heres a quick video about the project. Click here if you cant see it.
There will be four apps compatible with the system at launch with more in the pipeline.
Right now, for a pledge of $25, you can snag a Snipe blaster, 10 darts, and free access to all of the compatible apps. Delivery estimate for most rewards is in November.
If youve got an extra $10,000 lying around, the creators will fly you to Israel for a week of boot camp training by ex-special forces from the IDF. Sign me up. Now does anyone have $10,000 I can spend?
With 28 days left to go in the campaign, almost $18,000 has been pledged on a goal of $100,000.
