After I spent days playing the original Tank Hero, a game with OpenGL 3D graphics, developer Clapfoot would forever be etched in my mind as a force to be reckoned with. Scrolling through the new arrivals the other day, when the sequel Tank Hero: Laser Wars made it’s debut on the PlayBook!
..Laser Wars picks up where Tank Hero leaves off. Except instead of cannons, heat seekers, and howitzers.. this time you’ll equip your tank with ray guns, plasma howitzers, sonic cannons, and more!
° All new 3D graphics engine with hyper realistic lighting and special effects ° Two unique worlds to conquer ° Interactive environments that include force fields, exploding barrels, and more ° Super charge your tank on the battlefield with powerups such as energy shields and speed boost ° Epic boss battles that will put your skills to the ultimate test ° Split screen deathmatch mode ° All new achievements system ° 4 difficulty levels to accomodate all types of players ° Original soundtrack
The first game was sick. Tank Hero: Laser Wars is the slickest. These are the quality games that I had only dreamed about seeing on a BlackBerry device. Now we’re actually playing them.
Lighting effects are breathtaking in Wars. Game mechanics – brilliant. It’s probably the smoothest tank game I’ve ever played. I can’t help but think back to the early days of the iOS phones. I remember thinking games like this were fun, but I had my doubts about them ever looking, feeling or playing like a console game. Well those days are finally here. And on the PlayBook no less!
As usual at Berryfication, we continue to bring you only products that we’ve played. Products like this that we believe in. Other features in Tank Hero: Laser Wars include – 2 player split screen mode. Collect and earn special achievements as you progress through levels. 4 difficulty levels, Two unique worlds and let’s not forget the New 3D graphics engine! WOW!
You can pick this one up for $4.99 in BlackBerry App World at the link below. Stunning work from Clapfoot once again. Also available for iOS and Android devices here.
