Well now, here’s an interesting little victory. Nintendo’s home console, the Wii U, is still winding down to the end of its life with reports that its successor will head into mass production early next year, and what winds up being a number one selling item at Target? The Wii U!
Target must have had a really solid deal for the console, because, in its Black Friday report, the retailer claims that it was the best selling item of the day.
“Gaming consoles were popular in stores and online, including Nintendo Wii U, which was the top selling item on Target.com,”
Doesn’t get more blunt than that. Still, Nintendo has had a pretty strong showing this holiday season with critical hits like Xenoblade Chronicles X and Super Mario Maker, both of which without question helped to move a few consoles at a bargain price.
Those two games, plus the promise of Star Fox Zero and a little franchise called The Legend of Zelda are hoping to take Nintendo’s console out on a high note.
