If you enjoy fleeing from demonic beasts so much that not only did you instantly download the original Temple Run (on our recommendation) but you also prowl Dartmoor on weekends in the hope of happening across an horrific hound to goad into giving chase, then you’re going to love this Disney/Pixar reimagining…
It goes without saying that Temple Run was a gigantic hit on Google Play – the fastest action app available that gets the heart racing and sets the nerves on edge as you run, slide and jump your way to not-being-eaten-by-an-evil-monkey freedom, so when Disney and Pixar get involved, you’d imagine the results are pretty darn impressive. And you’d be imagining correctly.
No longer fleeing the guardians of a lost temple in an unnamed jungle, Brave sees the chase moved to the wilds of, erm, Scotland. Playing as Princess Merida from the new 3D animated Brave film, it’s another endless legging it scenario as you’re pursued relentlessly by a demon bear, but now with added archery to set you all a-quiver and help you gather coins as you go.
THE BOTTOM LINE
Swipe, tilt and tap to play, Temple Run: Brave is basically more of the same breathless fun, but now with an added movie tie-in and even better graphics. Locations are lush, detailed and beautifully designed with the splendidly smooth game play that made the forerunner (ahem) such a huge hit. And then there’s that demon bear. Never forget the bear.
