One game we had quietly been keeping an eye out for, called Terra Battle, has finally arrived onto the Google Play store. Developed by Mistwalker Corporation, which was founder by the creator of Final Fantasy Hironobu Sakaguchi, Terra Battle is a tactical RPG which also allows players to collect heroes along the way.
The storyline of the game has a theme that doesn't stray too far from the tried and true themes of past RPG titles. Players will set out on a journey to uncover the secrets of the world you happen to find yourself in and eventually defeat all the evil monsters that come your way with the heroes that are a part of your team. However the game is played out on a playing field that more resembles a board game (with plenty of effects of course) then your usual tactical RPG and that isn't really a bad thing either.
Terra Battle Features:
* Maneuver your characters freely to outflank your enemies. Move units freely around a grid-based map to flank the enemy, striking from both sides in a pincer attack.
* Eradicate multiple foes in one fell swoop with chain attacks. Characters can be positioned to execute chain attacks with allies. Take advantage of bonus items on the map as well to obliterate your foes!
* Customize characters strategically via jobs and skills. Characters can undergo three types of job changes. Acquire new skills and combine them to create characters that best fit your play style.
* Experience an expansive game world with hundreds of battle maps and hundreds of friends and foes.
The more you progress through Terra Battle, the stronger your party members get. You also get to collect other heroes along the way which you can use as well. Eventually there will also be online battle modes to compete in as well. There are also two unique events going on with the release of Terra Battle. First, to celebrate the game's release, Kuscah will join all new players as the healer for their team when they first begin the game. Having a healer right away has its obvious benefits.
Secondly, Mistwalker Corporation is kicking of their Download Starter Campaign which is definitely something unique. How this works is basically based on how many people download the game. As more people download Terra Battle, additional content and heroes are made available in-game. It is sort of like a Kickstarter campaign but instead of throwing money at a company currently developing a game, it is based off of download numbers instead.
You can see all the milestones over on the Terra Battle website if you are interested in checking them out to see what you may be getting access to soon. Terra Battle is available for download off of Google Play for free. You can also learn more about this game in the trailer below.
