Infovole’s Textkraft family of word
processing applications for the iPad in its several variants has been downloaded by some 2.8 million users, making it one of the most popular iOS word processors.
However, until now, Textkraft has not supported the iPhone. That wasn’t really a tragedy in the past because the iPhone 1 through 5s have 3.5-inch and 4-inch displays that were not really practical for doing any serious word
crunching—at least efficiently and comfortably. But the larger panels in the iPhone 6 and even more so the iPhone 6 Plus with its near-tablet sized 5.5-inch display have changed the picture, so to
speak. As such, Infovole has completely redesigned Textkraft for the iPhone with a new app called Textkraft Pocket optimized for iOS 7.1 and iOS 8.
Like the Textkraft for iPad apps, Textkraft Pocket has a broad range of features to support importing, writing, correcting, formatting, storing and communicating text documents. Carried over are
the iPad apps’ extensive import and export features, easy and precise cursor navigation, selection guides, text styles, keyboard extensions and built-in dictionaries with synonyms. That’s a lot of
word processing power for a smartphone.
However, while I’m at it, in my recent review here of redesigned Textkraft 3 Professional, I noted that the appearance of the completely redesigned user interface in version 3 is clean and
attractive, arguably more in harmony with iOS 7 and 8 UI conventions, but I missed the older version’s easy, one-tap access to Textkraft’s constellation of special function…
