It's "too early" to announce a price point for the PlayStation 4 virtual reality headset Project Morpheus. That's according to PlayStation Worldwide Studios president Shuhei Yoshida, who explained his rationale for holding back the pricing announcement in a new interview with GamesIndustry International.
"We are talking about launching next year so typically we don't talk about pricing one year ahead of time," he started off. "I think we announced the price of PS4 at E3 the year of the launch so that's five months before the launch. So it's too early.
"It's not like we are waiting for Oculus to announce their price," he added. "We still have work to do to know exactly the cost of goods and so on."
Though Sony hasn't announced specifics about Morpheus pricing, the company said previously that it is aiming to offer the headset for "as low as possibly can be done."
Morpheus is set to launch in the first half of 2016, which means it will be available before July next year.
