1. Pong Sleek Case for iPhone 6
Pong is a company that makes iPhone cases with some unique properties. The soft-to-the-touch case is designed to not only limit your exposure to “potentially harmful radiation,” while also transmitting a stronger outbound signal to improve your signal strength. The Sleek model is nice, but there’s also a “Rugged” model if you want something a bit beefier.
Third party FCC-certified labs have tested the cases, and they found that Pong cases significantly decreased the amount of radiation that can be absorbed by your head and body while using your phone or carrying it in your pocket. You can learn more about these claims here. WIRED has lots of positive things to say about Pong technology.
One thing I did to test out the Pong Sleek case’s ability to is this cool trick from Lifehacker, which lets you see your actual signal strength. By entering a series of numbers into your phone, you can transform your signal icon from bars to an actual number that more accurately expresses your signal strength. When I enabled this testing mode on my iPhone 6, I took a look at the number for the phone in its “naked” state, versus with the Pong case. While that number didn’t change at all just from adding the case, I will say that I was able to make some calls in “dead zones” while using this case. For example, I took my iPhone 6 to the local Target with a Pong case on. I usually can’t get enough of a signal to make a call once I’m in the store, but I could make a call about 50 feet farther inside the store than normal with a Pong case on my device.
Some caveats: the Pong case (at least in the case of the Sleek model) is really hard to get off the phone, despite a seemingly simple snap-on/snap-off design. It also lacks port covers to block out dust or moisture. Still, for people who are looking for a signal-boosting, radiation-deflecting case, this useful accessory is a great buy.
Lots of cases have a built-in kickstand, but STM’s take on a stand case is unique. The hinged design makes it easy to use the phone in portrait mode when doing FaceTime. The hinge also makes it easy to access the ports on the bottom of your phone. Plus, it comes in a nice variety of two-toned color options.
What’s more useful than a case that extends your battery life? This case includes a 3500mAh battery supply, which means you can fully charge your iPhone 6, and still have some juice left over. The LED indicator makes it easy to see how much of a charge you have left, while the secure locking mechanism keeps your case in place.
The Task Lab makes a great iPhone 6 case with a built-in assortment of stainless steel tools. The case itself is rugged, and exceeds military drop testing standard. Included in the case are a knife, saw blade, wrenches, a wire stripper, screwdrivers, a bottle opener, and much more. While the iPhone 6 version of this case isn’t in stock yet, you can pre-order it now.
This case is almost like having two cases in one, since it has a multi-layer design. You can remove some parts of the case to lose some bulk, and it’s nice to have the option to go with a lightweight case or a rugged case, depending on what you’re up to that day. There’s also a detachable aluminum media stand to make use of. In addition to being extremely rugged, this case is also recyclable and compostable, making it appealing to anyone who wants to go green and limit waste.
Carrying around your earbuds can be tricky. Without a way to keep the cord tidy, your earbuds can become a tangled mess. Moshi’s iPouch case makes it easy to keep your earbuds stowed away in a handy storage pouch. The iPouch is also nice because it has been made with a special basic that removes smudges and protects your device from splashes and static charge.

Most wallet cases have a fairly limited amount of storage space. At best, you can fit a couple of cards and maybe a bill or two. This new Kickstarter project aims to create a wallet case with an insane amount of storage. The SAFE case can let you store up to five credit cards, or up to 15 business cards. It can also hold cash and house keys. Optional features include spots for a SAFE pen, SIM card, or mini USB flash drive.
At the time this article was published, this Kickstarter campaign had over 50 days left, and had already gotten fully funded on Day 1.
This attractive wallet case from Candywe comes in a huge array of colors, but this gold iPhone 6 Plus case is one of the better color choices. The wrist strap makes this easy to carry, which is nice for gals who wear skinny jeans with pockets that are too small to hold the iPhone 6 Plus in a bulky case. This is great for women who want a case that is also a useful purse.
At first glance, you might overlook the “secret” compartment on this case. You can use this part of the case to store cards, cash, or notes. But what is arguably the coolest feature is the adhesive mirror for the inner compartment. If you need to check your makeup or your hair, this is a nice feature. You could always take a selfie, but sometimes you’d rather use a mirror than the camera to get a good look at yourself.
Logitech’s Protection [+] case for the iPhone 6 is useful because it makes it simple to mount your phone in your car. The metal plate in the Protection [+] case is compatible with Logitech [+] magnetic mounts for cars. If you’re always on the go in your car, this is probably the right case for you. Do note, however, that a recent report on 9to5Mac has indicated that iPhone accessories with a magnetic component may interfere with phone features like the camera.
