High tide or low tide can make or break your experience. Should you build that sand castle close to the water line or maybe move your beach towels a bit further back? Tides Near Me will tell you exactly when you will experience low tide or high tide as well as sunrise and sunset. Look ahead to today, get an overview of the week or see a map of where the tide stations are near you. There aren’t many frills to this app but it does give accurate readings of currents and tides.
Bringing kids to the beach can be a very fun experience, you can build sand castles fly kites and swim in the water. As fun and beautiful as the beach is it can be dangerous. Even if you think you’re a strong swimmer, the tide can pull you out and into danger. If the water is warm enough, swimming in the ocean is a great summer activity. However, just like anything in nature, you need to make sure what you’re blowing bubbles in is safe. Waterkeeper Swim Guide lets you know if the beach near you has experienced any contaminants. In a very easy-to-use app, you search for your beach and see a rating out of 10 for how dangerous it is. It also gives advice on what to wear on certain days. If you happen to see a pollution spill, report it directly through the app and keep our oceans clean.
A big part of the beach during the summer is surfing. Put in your location and MSW Surf Forecast will find the beaches near you give information about the wave height, tide schedule and even if there are any buoys to look out for. For spots that get surfed a lot, the app will have photos and videos and if you register for an account you can add your own. Look at the weekly forecast to see if you’ll be able to get out there this weekend or if you should look for another beach. For popular beaches you can look up food and drink nearby or add your favorite restaurants if you don’t see them.
