inXile’s record setting Kickstarter game, Torment: Tides of Numenera, has been confirmed for a console release on the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. The game is currently set for an early 2017 release for the PC after it suffered several delays, and it will come to all three platforms simultaneously.
For those interested, a part of the game is already available through Steam Early Access. inXile is working with Techland to bring the game to consoles, and CEO Brian Fargo explains further.
After the critical and commercial success of Wasteland 2: Director’s Cut on consoles, and with fans clamouring for it, it had been in our plans to bring Torment: Tides of Numenerato PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. We’re especially excited to be partnering with Techland, who as developers themselves perfectly understand how to do a release without any compromise to the quality of the title.
Techland continued with confirmation that the game would be getting a physical release on “all platforms.”
Torment: Tides of Numenera was one of the first games I ever backed on Kickstarter all those years ago. It pops back into my memory every once in a while, but unlike a few other Kickstarter campaigns that have taken a long time to come to fruition, the transparency and updates from inExile have made the wait easier.
The game will be released for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC in early 2017.
