The HTC One is available in the US since last month. If you didn’t manage to buy one yet, you might want to do it now. HTC is running a promotion that allows One buyers to get up to $375 for their older smartphone when they trade it in.
The promotion is valid starting today (May 2), and through May 5. Only certain smartphopnes are accepted, including: iPhone 5 (HTC is offering $300 to $375 for it), iPhone 4S ($200 – $255), BlackBerry Z10 ($250), Samsung Galaxy S3 ($130 – $210), Motorola Droid Razr ($100 – $184), LG Optimus 4X HD ($150), Blackberry Curve ($100) and Blackberry Bold ($100).
After you complete the online trade in process, you’ll receive money back via mail, on a Prepaid Visa card. All there is to know about the promo can be found here at HTC.
Sure enough, you can always try to sell your current smartphone by yourself, and get more money for it this way. But if you need an HTC One, and want to get rid of your old handset as fast as possible, the trade in promotion will certainly be of help.
The HTC One can be bought with voice and data plans from AT&T, Sprint, or T-Mobile. Verizon will probably not sell the handset at all (it’s offering the Droid DNA anyway).
