Problem:my phone wont charge at all. i had my loud speaker fixed today and before that it was charging and now after i had it fixed my phone wont charge at all. i have tried taking my case off and using another charger and it still doesnt charge. Have they stuffed it up and what could they have done wrong? any ideas how i can fix the problem myself before i take it back to the shop tomorrow? thanks
Solution: If your phone was charging just fine before the loudspeaker was replaced then this problem could be caused by some procedure done during the replacement process. To check if other factors are involved try cleaning the charging port of your phone first using a can of compressed air or cotton bud dipped in alcohol. You should also try using another charging cord when charging your phone as this cord usually gets damaged easily.
One last troubleshooting step that you should do is a factory reset to eliminate any software related issues that could be causing this problem. Take note that this will delete all your phone data so make sure to backup your phone data first.
If the problem still persists then I suggest you bring back your phone to the shop.
S5 Yellow Exclamation Mark Appears When Charging
Problem: My phone ran out of battery and when I try to charge it up a yellow exclamation mark appears. The phone was working fine. I don’t know what the problem is. thanks in advance for your help
Related Problem: Hi there, First off, THANK YOU for allowing this option for random people to email their issues and beg for mercy. Today, I decided it was time to remove my S5 from it’s Otterbox hardshell case and give it a cleaning. Like usual, I removed the rubber lining then the plastic shell and then I removed the back cover to my S5 and proceeded to remove the battery. i gave everything a quick wipe, ensuring not to damage anything. I then began reassembling the phone and and case. Upon booting it up I realized all my apps that needed to be updated were updating, no big deal, this is usually the case. Not sure if this causes the issue (which I’m getting by the way.) Now, my night time routine follows. I set my alarm, plug my phone and go to sleep. Only this time, I realize that my phone isn’t charging. It continues to attempt to charge and go to a battery sign with a yellow “”hazzard sign”” in the middle. Please help… I’m praying it’s a software issue, or some sort of “easy fix”. Thank You
Solution: The yellow exclamation mark that appears on the phone display means that your phone is not charging properly. There are several factors that can cause this issue which include a bad battery, bad phone charging port, defective charger, or a glitch in the phone software.
The first thing you need to do in this case is to turn off your phone and take out the battery. Check the battery if it has any visible signs of defects such as bulging. Replace the battery if it shows signs of defects. If the battery looks fine then press and hold the power button for at least a minute first before reinserting the battery. Turn on your phone then try to charge it with its wall charger.
If the issue persists then try to clean the charging port of your phone using a can of compressed air or cotton bud dipped in alcohol. A dirty port can usually cause this type of problem which is what we want to avoid. While you are cleaning the port you should also check it for any signs of physical damage.
Try to charge your phone using a different charging cord and wall charger.
If the problem persists then you should backup your phone data then do a factory reset. This will eliminate any software related issues that could be causing the problem.
If at this point the problem remains unresolved then try replacing your battery.
Your last resort is to bring the phone to an authorized service center and have it checked.
S5 Does Not Charge After Getting Wet
Problem: After spilling iced tea on my phone by accident, my phone will not charge. The screen works perfectly fine but I cannot charge it properly now. It goes in and out from charging.
Solution: It’s very likely that your phone may have suffered from liquid damage when you spilled iced tea on it. The first thing that you should do in this case is to check the phone battery LDI or liquid damage indicator. Take out the battery from your phone then check the sticker on the bottom side just to the right side of the metal contacts. If it turns solid pink, red, or purple then your device has been affected by water. If this is the case then you should place your phone in a bag of rice for at least 48 hours. This will absorb the moisture inside your phone. Once 48 hours have passed get a new battery and insert it in your phone. Check if the phone charges with the new battery. If it doesn’t then you should bring your phone to an authorized service center and have it checked.
In case the LDI is normal then what you should do is to clean the phone charging port using a can of compressed air or a cotton bud dipped in alcohol. Once this is done try charging your phone with a different charging cord and wall charger.
S5 Does Not Turn On After Charging Overnight
Problem:Hello! thank you for taking your time to try to help solve this problem. I plugged my S5 into the charger last night. everything was normal. it was charging. when i woke up it wasn’t on. the battery felt overheated so i took it out and let it cool for about 30 minutes. still wouldn’t turn on. i tried plugging the phone in without the battery, still no luck. any suggestions?
Related Problem:Charged it overnight noticed blue light was on this morning. Tried to turn phone on, but nothing happens, no lights no sounds. Followed directions for taking out and replacing battery. Tried the soft reboot. Nothing! Any help very much appreciated.
Solution: Here’s what you need to do first. Take out the battery and the microSD card (if you have one installed). Press and hold the power button for at least a minute. This discharges the phone circuit and clears out the RAM. Reinsert the phone battery then try to turn on your phone.
If it still does not turn on then inspect the charging port of your phone. Clean it if necessary using a can of compressed air or cotton bud dipped in alcohol. Charge your phone using another charging cord and wall charger for at least 20 minutes before turning it on.
If the problem persists then try to start your phone in recovery mode. If you can access this mode then you should wipe the cache partition of your phone first. If this does not help then do a factory reset from this mode. Take note that this will delete your phone data.
If the problem remains unresolved then try getting a new battery.
If the above troubleshooting steps fail then I suggest you bring your phone to an authorized service center and have it checked.
S5 Does Not Charge
Problem:So I have a fairly new Samsung galaxy s5 until recently when the charging flap snapped off. Now whenever i charge my phone the battery goes down. It was on 57% when I went to bed last night and now it’s on 24%. How can I stop this?
Solution: Your phone may not be charging properly which is why it is acting this way. Try cleaning the charging port of your phone first using a can of compressed air or cotton bud dipped in alcohol. When charging your phone use a different charging cable and wall charger. If the problem still persists then I suggest you bring your phone to an authorized service center and have it checked.
