An app called TV Show Favs has added a Material Design UI in a beta test for the app that has been making the rounds very recently. While a beta version of the app is not immediately visible on the Play Store for anyone who has used this app before and wants to test out the new UI or who has thought about installing it for the first time, it’s easy enough to become a tester for the beta version of the app, which can be done through the button below. Once you commit to becoming a tester, you’ll be provided with a link from TV Show Favs to head to the Play Store and download the beta app which comes with the new UI design.
The new look includes the hamburger menu that pops out from the left side of the screen although most of the options within are also available in the navigation bar at the bottom of the app, which lets users move between the Home, Shows, Schedule, To Do, and Top Favs tabs. The Home tab will be the go-to for popular shows and with categories for shows that were popular on that day as well as which shows were popular that week.
If you don’t see any shows that you would like to add as a fav you can also search shows by using the dedicated search button in the top right corner of the app. As of right now it looks like one of the only things that is new with this beta version of the app is the Material Design visuals, and anyone who has used this app before will know what a departure the new design is as the visuals literally got a complete overhaul. In addition to the visual change though app shortcuts are also now supported for those who have a device which also supports the app shortcuts feature. Naturally there are some bug fixes and improvements as well which is pretty standard with an app update whether it’s a beta release or not. If you’re interested in checking this new version of the app out before they roll it out to all users in the future, as mentioned previously you can become a tester by hitting the button below.
