Twitter for Android Updated to Version 3.3.0 with Extended Tweets and More
Anybody out there still rocking the official Twitter Android application? If so, you’ll want to hit up your Play Store when you get a chance, as there’s a fresh new update that just went live a little while ago. The new version is 3.3.0 and brings along a few awesome new features with it. Have a look at the changelog below:
v3.3
- Expanded Tweets: when you view Tweet details containing links to partner sites, you can now see content previews, view images, play videos and more. [this feature is rolling out gradually]
- Push notifications for Tweets: choose to receive notifications from people you follow anytime they tweet or retweet
- Improvements to search autocomplete for users
- Tappable avatars that take you directly to user profiles
- Many other tweaks, polish, and bug and crasher fixes
There was a time when many people said the official Twitter app was garbage, but it has definitely come a long way since then. While I admit, I am a true Google+ fanatic by heart, I still tweet stupid little blurbs frequently, so feel free to follow me if you’d like.
If you don’t already have Twitter installed on your Android device, head on over to the Play Store and pick up the 2.6MB download and I’ll look for you in my timeline.
