Enpass is a password manager that’s available on Android, and today it’s getting a pretty important update. With Enpass being a password manager that keeps track of your logins for different apps and such, you’d expect it to be nice and secure right? Well with this update, it’s getting even more secure. Enpass is announcing native two-factor authentication for their app on Android.
To be a bit more specific it’s doing TOTP which is Time-based One-time Password authentication. This is an algorithm that will spit out a one-time password from a shared secret key and the current time. This is one of the more popular two-factor authentication systems around. The great thing about TOTP is that you won’t need to jump between different authenticator apps to login using TOTP.
On top of two-factor authentication, Enpass is also bringing fingerprint support. It’s supporting the Android 6.0 Marshmallow fingerprint API. So any device with a fingerprint sensor and running Android 6.0 Marshmallow, will be supported in this update. What this means is that you’ll be able to login to the app using your fingerprint sensor, instead of some long and complicated password that you are using for Enpass. This also means that when you need it to fill in apps, you can use your fingerprint instead of typing in that long password. It makes things a whole lot easier in the long run.
The way Enpass works, is that it allows you to store up to 20 logins in the Android app for free. However if you want to use it on other platforms and have it sync, that’s going to cost you $9.99. But luckily that is just a one-time fee. Additionally, you’ll be able to sync unlimited items. So you can have all of your logins in the app and not worry about having to remember any logins, besides your Enpass login. Password managers like Enpass makes things so much easier. It’s definitely nice to see these password managers getting more and more secure. The last thing you want is to have your password manager account hacked into, seeing as that person would have literally everything about you, in their fingertips. You can download Enpass from the Google Play Store today.
