With iOS 7 distracting you all the time with parallax and whatnot, you have probably noticed that your battery doesn’t last as long as it used to. If you are a heavy user, you may find yourself sticking to a standard 4PM recharge to get through the evening. That is where battery cases become a life saver, and TYLT’s Energi Sliding Power Case is just that, providing 9 hours worth of additional talk time.
The design although basic and simple, is efficient, because it only adds ¼ an inch to the iPhone’s thickness and ½ an inch to the length. It is not heavy or bulky, and just feels like you are holding a bigger iPhone. Two cases come with the pack – one black, one blue. To put the cases on you slide in one side and pull the other over. Then slide the case downwards into the charging port. This process is slightly annoying because you have to take your current case off and use that one. For this reason I have always been partial to charging packs. However, if you don’t care to use a case (gasp), or want to use the provided case as your everyday case, then this point would be moot.
The built-in rechargeable 2500mAh Lithium Ion battery shows its status with an LED light on the backside of the case. Recharge it and watch it climb back up. The charging is quite fast as well, within less than an hour I had a full charge and could switch it out back to my old case.
Overall, the TYLT Energi Sliding Power Case is very easy to use. It is a slim, no-nonsense or frills recharging case that will do the job of providing juice to your phone throughout the day. And it leaves all of the iPhone’s ports easily accessible. For $99.99 it is available in three colors, Green, Blue, and Red. Each also comes with a black case.
