If you’re in the UK, want to buy a smartphone, and are looking for a bargain, we have something for you. It may not be a top of the line device anymore, but it is great value for the money.
We’re talking about LG’s Optimus Black. This Android-powered handset was launched in May, and its price back then was in the £400 range. Time flies though, and here we are in December with one retailer offering the same phone for just £189.99. SIM-free and unlocked, naturally. That’s a dramatic price drop no matter how you look at it.
And the device is not obsolete by any stretch of the imagination, even if the mobile world does move at a staggering pace these days. The Optimus Black has a 4-inch 480×800 touchscreen, a 1 GHz processor, 512 MB of RAM, a 5 MP camera with 720p HD video recording, a 2 MP front-facing camera, 2 GB of built-in storage, Wi-Fi, GPS, Bluetooth, HSPA support, and it’s just 9.2 mm thin.
The LG Optimus Black will probably be shipped to you running Android 2.2 Froyo, but an update to Android 2.3 Gingerbread should become available once you power it up.
If you’re interested in picking one up, all you need to do is head over to eBuyer right now.
