Samsung has not even pushed the Android P updates to its
latest flagship handsets such as the Galaxy S9 or the Galaxy Note 9, but an
unofficial post from XDA has already made it possible for owners of the
flagship handset from 2015 to download and flash an Android P based firmware
update on the Galaxy S6. Given that the
S6 will likely never get Android Pie from Samsung, this is arguably our best
hope of running Android 9 on the S6 and S6 Edge!
Only the following models are supported at the moment, so
make sure that your handset is one of them before trying to flash the update.
If you are in the US, it is important to note that only T-Mobile devices are
supported at the moment for this particular update.
