Download and install the USB Drivers (Download Link) for Samsung Galaxy Note 3 device, these drivers are necessary t connect the device with the PC.
Now, enable the USB Debugging Mode from Settings>Developer Options and check the USB Debugging option.
A full backup is required to be created; the tutorial is likely to wipe out all data stored into internal device’s memory. If the Note 3 device has any custom recovery images such as CWM or TWRP then you need to backup data by using them.
Ensure that the device’s battery has more than 85 % power left.
Another main point is that the device should be a factory unlocked device and not locked to a specific carrier.

How to update the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 LTE SM-N9005 to Android 4.4.2 N9005XXUGNG1
Download Android 4.4.2 N9005XXUGNG1firmware file save it on your computer and extract the same to obtain a .tar.md5 file.
Download the Odin v3.09 file save it on your pc and extract the same to obtain the ODIN 3 v.3.09.exe file.
Power off the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 device.
Now, boot the device into Download Mode ( Press and keep holding the Home, Power and Volume Down buttons in the same time.
Be sure that you have the USB Drivers flashed on your PC.
Open the ODIN. exe file as an Administrator on your PC.
Now, connect the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 device to the PC by using the USB cord while the device is in Download Mode.
Once the ODIN recognizes the device the ID:COM box and the light blue with COM port number will be colored in light blue.

Once the home screen will be displayed on the device you can disconnect the device from the PC by removing the USB cable.
