The Galaxy Note 3 device from Sprint received a new Android update called KitKat 4.4.4. This step by step guide is especially developed to teach you how to manually install the new update without waiting the new N900PVPUDNH7 firmware OTA for your device.
The new Android 4.4.4 KitKat build release allow you to prepare your device in order to install the next Android L 5.0 firmware OS upgrade.
Before beginning the new step by step guide in order to install the Android 4.4.4 KitKat update you need to take care of some prerequisites listed below:
This step by step guide is compatible only for Samsung Galaxy Note 3 on Sprint model number SM – N900P. For verifying the device’s model you need to go under Settings> About Phone.
Do not use this guide for an incorrect device, or model number, it will not work.
Download and install the latest Samsung USB Drivers on your PC. Once the USB drivers are installed on your PC you can connect the Galaxy Note 3 device with ODIN. ODIN app is the software that you’ll use in order to install the new Android 4.4.4 KitKat on your device.
Ensure that the Samsung KIES app on your PC is disabled, also uninstall or disable antivirus, firewall, or any other security application that you’ve installed on your PC.
Now, enable the USB Debugging mode from Developer Option menu.
In case your device is rooted, then you need to know that once the new update is installed the root rights will be revoked.
Any custom Recovery Image that you might have flashed on your Note 3 device will be removed by the installation process.
If you have a custom ROM flashed on your Android-based device, then the installation process can be done by overwriting the custom ROM build with the new official stock ROM.

If the Note 3 device has a stock ROM then you won’t lose any files by using this installation of the new stock file.
Ensure that the device’s battery charge level is more than 50 % power left; this will prevent the Android device from switching off during the flashing process.

How to install the new Android 4.4.4 N900PVPUDNH7 KitKat for Sasmung Galaxy Note 3 from Sprint:
Download the new Android 4.4.4 N900PVPUDNH7 firmware zip file from here. For downloading the new file you need to create an account with SamMobile.
Now, extract its content on your PC, you should obtain a N900PVPUDNH7 file with the tar.md5 extension, do not extract any further than that.
Now, download the ODIN 3 v.3.09 software from here and extract its contents on your PC.
Turn off the device now.
Now, boot the Spring Galaxy Note 3 in Download Mode.
Open Odin 3 v3.09 exe on your PC.
Connect the device to your computer by using the USB cable and wait for the device to be detected by the ODIN software.
If the device isn’t recognized by the PC then you will need to re-install the Samsung USB Drivers once again.
Now, press on the “AP” button Option and load the downloaded N900PVPUDNH7 file.
Make sure that the ‘Re-Partition’ button is disabled.
Do not make any other settings on Odin options.
Press the START button when you’re ready to start the update process of your Sprint Galaxy Note 3 device.
Once the flashing process is done you’ll see the device rebooting into normal mode and the ODIN app will show you the “PASS” message.
Now, use your Samsung login autentification’s details and get the control of your device.

If the ODIN application doesn’t complete this installation and the FAIL message is displayed then you should re-read all steps listed above and make sure that you’ve successfully applied all of them. If the ODIN application displays the “PASS” message but the device doesn’t get past the first Samsung boot message, the you need to apply a factory reset.
For applying a factory reset you need to power off the device, then boot the device into Recovery Mode and from there use the ‘wipe data/ factory reset’ action.
