As we approach MWC 2015, we’re starting to hear about one of the most important pieces to the puzzle for consumers here in the United States: The Samsung Galaxy S6 release date.
For several months, Samsung Galaxy S6 rumors have teased consumers in the United States. Galaxy S6 specs have leaked out on a near daily basis. Galaxy S6 design rumors have been rampant. And we’ve even heard about the highly anticipated Samsung Galaxy S6 release date. All this ahead of the Galaxy S6 launch date that’s expected to take place on March 1st.
Expect a fast Galaxy S6 release date.
As we’ve inched closer to Mobile World Congress 2015 and Unpacked on March 1st, we’ve finally started to see Samsung Galaxy S6 release date rumors take shape both for consumers around the world and for consumers here in the United States. The U.S. Galaxy S6 release date, the date itself, remains unconfirmed but we’ve seen a ton of movement in the past couple of days and naturally, consumers are excited.
With just days to go before the Galaxy S6 launch date, the U.S. Galaxy S6 release is starting to heat up and today, we want to take a look at what we know so far about the Galaxy S6 release date in the United States. This will take you through the Galaxy S6 release date rumors and it will look at what’s already confirmed ahead of the Galaxy S6 release.
AT&T Galaxy S6 Release Confirmed
In the past, U.S. carriers have waited until the launch date to announce new Galaxy S smartphones. Not this year. This year, a couple of carriers jumped the gun and they’ve confirmed a Galaxy S6 U.S. release ahead of the Galaxy S6’s March 1st announcement.
One of those carriers is AT&T, the nation’s second largest service provider, and a longtime Samsung partner. AT&T was the first carrier to carry the Galaxy Note and it has carried all versions of the Samsung Galaxy S.
The AT&T Galaxy S6 release is confirmed.
While AT&T did not call the device out by name, its splash page essentially confirms the Galaxy S6 release for AT&T customers. The splash page features the tag line “Six Appeal,” a reference to the Galaxy S6, and it also allows consumers to sign up for more information about the Galaxy S6. The device shown in the image appears to be a Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge model, a device that’s rumored to be coming alongside the regular Galaxy S6.
T-Mobile also confirmed the Galaxy S6 release for its customers through a sign up page of its own. T-Mobile’s sign up page features the same tag line and the same curved device. What’s more is that the carrier invites consumers to join it on March 1st as it relays more important information regarding this big time smartphone release.
The T-Mobile Galaxy S6 release is confirmed.
The carrier’s sign up page encourages interested consumers to sign up for more information including “exciting content” and “special offers from T-Mobile.” U.S. carriers have been known to offer deals and contests ahead of Android smartphone release dates and we could perhaps see the UnCarrier offer some incentives to those that order the brand new Galaxy S. Either way, the device is confirmed for its network.
Sprint, U.S. Cellular & Verizon Galaxy S6 Release Rumored
Sprint, U.S. Cellular and Verizon have not followed suit though all three are heavily rumored to be getting the Samsung Galaxy S6. All three carriers offer the Galaxy S5, Galaxy Note 4 and Galaxy Note Edge and all three have shown up in Samsung Galaxy S6 release rumors. We even have the supposed model numbers for each of these devices.
Best Buy Galaxy S6 Release Confirmed
Best Buy, a close partner of Samsung’s, is prepping for the Samsung Galaxy S6 release date. Over the weekend, we discovered two placards in a Samsung Experience Store telling customers the Next Big Thing is “Coming Soon” to Best Buy stores. The placard below sat to the left of the Galaxy Note Edge demo model.
Best Buy is ready for the Galaxy S6 release date.
Another placard teasing the Samsung Galaxy S6 release date sat firmly attached to another demo table at Best Buy with the same exact message. Store employees would not offer any additional details about the signs though it’s clear that they are for the Galaxy S6. As we noted, these signs also suggest that users should be able to go to Best Buy locations with a Samsung store inside to go hands on with the device in the near future.
Retailers, carriers and Samsung is ready for a fast Galaxy S6 release date that no one is shy about teasing.
Shortly after the Samsung Galaxy Note 4 release, Samsung unleashed the Galaxy Note 4 into select Best Buy stores ahead of the Galaxy Note 4 release date. While limited, it gave consumers a chance to handle the phone ahead of its official release. We could see Best Buy and Samsung team up to do something similar here.
U.S. Galaxy S6 Release Date
As for the specific U.S. Galaxy S6 release date itself, all signs point to an arrival shortly after the device takes the stage in Barcelona, Spain. Early Galaxy S6 release date rumors suggested that the device would arrive two to three weeks earlier than last year’s Galaxy S5 release. The Samsung Galaxy S5 release in the U.S. took place in mid-April.
More recently, we’ve seen two specific windows emerge thanks to internal information from Samsung employees. An alleged leak points to possible blackout dates for Samsung Mobile employees next month.
Design upgrades could make the choice tougher for consumers this year.
The document suggests that vacation dates are blacked out between March 22nd to March 30th and April 19th to April 27th. Companies often use blackout dates for major product launches and there’s speculation that these dates might be for the Galaxy S6 and Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge.
A more recent leak from Android Policeshows the same dates blocked off for Samsung employees. Not only do these dates align with each other, they all take place just a few short weeks after Samsung’s set to unveil the Galaxy S6.
AT&T’s splash page lists the Galaxy S6 release for Spring 2015. Spring 2015 kicks off on March 20th, just a few days after the launch date, and just two days before this blackout window. While this could be a coincidence, it’s looking like we’ll see the Galaxy S6 release date in the United States touch down in just a few short weeks.
