Honor is Huawei’s subsidy, as you probably already know, and it is worth mentioning that this company is doing more than good on its own. Honor’s devices have been quite popular in certain regions, and their sales keep on growing. The company had introduced a number of smartphones this year, including the Honor 5C and Honor V8 handsets, but we’re here to talk more about one of their devices from last year, the Honor 5X, read on.
The Honor 5X is the company’s very compelling mid-ranger. This smartphone was introduced back in November last year, and has since then been released in a number of markets all over the world. We’ve already reviewed this smartphone in case you’d like to know more about it. That being said, the Honor 5X ships with Android 5.1.1 Lollipop out of the box, and on top of it, you can find Huawei’s EMUI skin, of course. Honor had started rolling out the Android 6.0 Marshmallow update to the international variant of this smartphone two weeks ago, and those of you who own the U.S. variant of this smartphone will be glad to hear the update is coming your way as well. The company has said that the update is on its way along with the new version of EMUI 4.0. Considering this is Android 6.0 Marshmallow, you’ll get various Marshmallow features with it, like Google Now on Tap, Doze, etc., and on top of that, Honor had included a number of features with EMUI 4.0. The EMUI 4.0 brings a personalized navigation bar, a one-hand mode, and a number more features, while it also looks significantly different than the stock variant of Android 6.0 Marshmallow.
The Huawei Honor 5X is made out of metal, it comes with a 5.5-inch fullHD display, 2GB / 3GB of RAM and 16GB of expandable internal storage. The phone is fueled by the Snapdragon 616 64-bit octa-core processor, and a 13-megapixel camera is placed on its back. This mid-range handset is unlocked, and costs $199 in the U.S. (2GB RAM variant). The Marshmallow update is already rolling out to the devices in the U.S., and if the update didn’t arrive just yet, it will soon.
