Maybe you have been a little envious of those who purchased an iPhone 6s or iPhone 6s Plus. After all, these new iPhones have a terrific feature for taking and viewing Live Photos. Well, released just yesterday, Nov. 1, Live Pictures Cam seeks to give you that feature on any iPhone you own, not just the newest model.
How the app works
In case you are not familiar with the Live Photos feature, this new method of capturing pictures brings them alive. Basically, the camera will capture a second and a half of audio and video before and after you hit that shutter button. Live Pictures Cam is pretty similar. You tap the button to capture your shot and hold your camera steady. You can see the progress of the process indicated by the red circle around the shutter button. The app will take the photo, capture the audio, and then save it directly to your photos app.
You have a few different settings that are adjustable with Live Pictures Cam. First, you can select at which point the photo should be taken, whether at the start, in the middle, or at the end of the capturing process. Next, you can choose the clip length from three, four, five, or eight seconds. The clip frame rate can be adjusted to either 15 or 25 frames per second. And finally, you can disable the audio if you like.
Nice and easy
Live Pictures Cam is simple to use and works well. Viewing your Live Photos can be done by selecting the picture in your photos app and just holding down on it. You will then see it come alive and hear the audio as well. So, be envious of the newest iPhone owners no more and take your own Live Photos. The app can be used on the iPhone 4s, iPhone 5 and 5s, and iPhone 6 and 6s.
Live Pictures Cam is available for $0.99 on the App Store for your iPhone and requires at least iOS 9.
