The Xbox Live Team has decided that they are done with doing wonky conversions from real life moneys to Points. Now you can use your local currency to buy games and entertainment on Xbox One and Xbox 360 instead of using Microsoft Points.
Starting as early as March 1st, Microsoft and the Xbox Live Team will “add to your Microsoft account an amount of currency equal to or greater than the Xbox stores value of your Microsoft Points, and your Microsoft Points will be retired”. Put out to pasture. You can even do this earlier if you decide you are so done with Points at this point (yes, of course I went there).
Xbox Gift Cards are also available that will reflect your local currency. But, to get all the nitty gritty details on the transition, head over to http://www.xbox.com/pointsfaq.
I personally haven’t dealt with the Microsoft Points system, but this sounds to me like a good thing. Are you rejoicing? Are you pissed about this? Sound off below in the comments.
