With the release date of the Samsung Galaxy S3 on Verizon fast approaching, the carrier has launched the first of what we assume to be many TV ads for the super phone. Unfortunately, the first ad doesn’t score too highly on our book.
The ad tells the story of a father who tries to lose weight in time for his daughter’s wedding with the help of Verizon and Samsung Galaxy S3. From checking out nutrition facts of cheeseburgers with the phone, to video calling – it doesn’t really show off some of the phone’s main strengths and unique features.
And if the ad is accurate, it looks like the Galaxy S3 is set to gain that rather unsightly Verizon logo – which is slapped just below the display of the phone and above the home button. A “feature” that we don’t see on the phone’s page on Verizon website. We hope it won’t translate to real life.
To be fair, the ad lumps Samsung Galaxy S3 with Verizon’s other offering and it seems to be promoting more of Big Red’s 4G LTE network. Perhaps we’ll see one that will showcase the features of the Galaxy S3 explicitly in the coming weeks or perhaps we won’t – given that the phone is selling like hotcakes anyway.
