If you thought that the basic flip-phones are gone, then you are wrong. They certainly are making a comeback and it looks like more people are willing to buy one. Verizon just launched a new LTE flip-phone which is made by LG. It is called the LG Exalt LTE and as the name suggests, it supports LTE out of the box. This is a Verizon exclusive phone which you can purchase online or offline at the Verizon outlets. It costs $168 or you can also get $7 a month on top of the monthly phone bill costs.
Well, talking about the features there’s not a lot to talk since it is just a basic flip-phone. It does come with a rear-facing camera for capturing images. It is a 5MP shooter hence you can expect some good looking images or at least better than what you could get out of other feature phones. This phone also supports Verizon’s HD voice calling which will allow for a better quality for voice calls. However, do make a note that you need to be connected to LTE for this to be able to work.
Talking about the design of the phone, it has a very basic design where there’s not a lot to hate about it. There’s a 3.5mm audio port for plugging in your wired headphones. It also has 8GB of internal storage for storing anything from images, videos, etc. If you run out of space, then you can also expand it further by adding a microSD card upto 32GB. The company claims that it has a standby time of upto 10 hours which is fairly decent for a phone of this size.
As mentioned earlier, it certainly looks like the feature phones are making a comeback. In fact, even Nokia has now relaunched the legendary Nokia 3310 feature phone which has been doing extremely well when it comes to sales. Having said that, we would like to know your thoughts on this. Would you be interested in buying a feature phone now or would you rather have a smartphone?
