The Verizon HTC One was originally slated to get the Android 4.3 update last month, but due to some technical issues, Verizon and HTC had to delay the rollout. But the wait is finally over and Verizon is ready to push the Android 4.3 update to owners of the HTC One on its network. Users will start receiving the OTA update beginning from early next week, so you can expect to have the update running on your handset by Tuesday or Wednesday. The good news was given out via Twitter by the Executive Director of Product Management at HTC, so it’s pretty legitimate info.
This raises several other questions in our minds though, most importantly with regards to the Android 4.4 update. HTC has promised to finish the rollout of Android 4.4 to all HTC One smartphones by January 2014. But since that’s only a month away and considering the sweet time that carriers take, HTC might have to revise those dates, especially for the Verizon variant. However, there’s every possibility that Verizon might pull a rabbit out of its hat and rollout the update along with other carriers right on schedule.
Android 4.3 on the HTC One introduces an all new user interface dubbed Sense 5.5 along with some Verizon specific changes (bloatware) and the customary bug fixes including the annoying No SIM error message.
