Verizon Galaxy Nexus gets Android 4.0.2 software update today
The Galaxy Nexus' Android 4.0.2 update increases 3G/4G speeds, improves the lockscreen, and fixes several Wi-Fi issues, among other things
Verizon Wireless has confirmed that the Samsung Galaxy Nexus, a device the carrier launched today, will receive an Android system update within hours of activation. The update is essentially being pushed out immediately.
The system update is the first of many for the phone and brings Android 4.0.2 ICL53F. Contained are Wi-Fi and 3G/4G radio improvements, an enhanced look to the lock screen, and better visuals when the front camera is running.
Unfortunately, the update has also taken away DivX video file support with no reason given, though it's promised to come back in a future update. No word on when, but for some people this will be a big deal.
Verizon has posted detailed file on how to download and install the 10.7MB update. A full log of all the changes is posted below.
