The Verizon variant of the Samsung Galaxy S5 is now said to be getting an update, bringing some minor changes to the device, which wouldn’t concern the everyday user from what we can tell.
The handset is essentially getting support for the fingerprint scanner while using Microsoft Exchange accounts. The changelog issued by Verizon also mentions that the Galaxy Apps app store will be preinstalled after the update, letting you get some exclusive Samsung content for your smartphone.
And that’s pretty much everything you need to know about this update. It’s still early days to expect Android 5.1 from the smartphone, so you will see the smartphone to be still running on Android 5.0 Lollipop. The update will change the software version of your handset to VRU2BOE1, so keep a note of that if you’re a customer of the Verizon branded Galaxy S5.
